Coronavirus Update, TeleHealth Option

In addition to the measures described in the previous post, we are taking additional measures to try to limit the exposure of our patients to the virus. We will be providing a TeleHealth option for both patients who are ill and also for patients who need routine follow up for existing problems. Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance have made this option available.  If you are ill with a respiratory infection, your regular physician or on-call provider will contact you via phone to discuss your current situation decide what steps need to be taken. If laboratory testing and further examination are needed we will provide you with a time slot to come into the office.  If you are due for a routine recheck for an existing problem such as diabetes, hypertension or heart disease, we can set up a time slot for your physician to call you, review your current situation, refill meds and schedule lab if needed. If an exam is needed, we will give you a time slot when people with infections will NOT be scheduled in the office. We will also set up lab draw times for people who are NOT currently having infectious symptoms. If you are having a new health problem that is not an acute infection, we will set up a time slot for an exam during our well visit appointment times.

As always our #1 priority is the health and safety of our patients and staff. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of social distancing to slow the spread of the virus. For all our patients 65 and older, YOU SHOULD STAY AT HOME. All nursing homes, assisted living and senior living facilities are on full lock down. You should avoid all social gatherings other than immediate family. It is okay to go outside for exercise and fresh air when the weather allows. We will post new updates frequently so check back.
